First Bank contributes to Ivy Tech Foundation

Written by: Susan Richwine  |

Richmond, Indiana – First Bank Richmond announced today that they will donate $10,000 to Ivy Tech Foundation during the month of July 2020. The contribution is the second of ten installments totaling $100,000, that will be made over the next ten years. The contribution supports the organization’s mission to partner with donors to invest in Ivy Tech Community College students, faculty, and programs to build stronger communities and a better Indiana. These funds were specifically allocated to the purchase of a state of the art, interactive video wall on display in the atrium of Johnson Hall.

I want to thank First Bank Richmond for their generous support of the video wall as well as their strong support of the Ivy Tech Richmond campus. The First Bank Richmond Video Wall technology in Johnson Hall has created many opportunities including classroom enhancement experiences, recognition, recruitment, and awareness initiatives, plus more!  On behalf of our students, thank you for making a difference at Ivy Tech Richmond. – Valerie Ray, Executive Director of Development, Ivy Tech Community College - Richmond

“First Bank Richmond was pleased to make the contribution for the new interactive video wall for Johnson Hall. It is a great way of keeping students informed and entertained while spending their time on campus. We’re always happy to support our higher learning institutions because they provide so much to the young adults of our community.” - Kimberly Poinsett, Vice President – Community Relations, First Bank Richmond

First Bank Richmond is committed to be an integral partner to the communities in which they serve.  Since 1887, not only have they provided their community with sound financial products and services, they have also fostered a philanthropic commitment that has made a significant impact through the dedication of their organization’s resources, talents and time. This commitment is facilitated through the following channels:

  • Financial support pledged through contributions and event sponsorships. In 2019, they proudly donated more than $400,000 to local not-for-profit organizations.
  • Board/employee leadership and participation with local not-for-profit organizations. Last year, 65% of their staff served on a board or a committee and collectively volunteered over 3,000 service hours to local not-for-profit organizations.
  • Donations (in-kind) and fundraising efforts to promote local initiatives.
